Rosie was born and grew up in Liverpool. She studied History at Cambridge before becoming a teacher. Her debut novel The Leviathan was an instant Sunday Times bestseller, going on to become one of the bestselling debut hardbacks of 2022, and was shortlisted for the Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award, the HWA Debut Crown Award and the Books Are My Bag Readers Award for Fiction. Her second novel The Puzzle Wood is out in hardback, and publishes in paperback in 2025.
Rosie has appeared at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Aye Write, Granite Noir, Stony Words, BeaconLit and Bury St Edmunds Lit Fest. Her work has been featured on the BBC Open Book radio show and she was selected as one of the Observer’s ‘Ten Debut Novelists to watch’ in 2022.
